Sales Associate/Hardware & Plumbing Expert

Location: Milwaukee, WI (On-site)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m.–4:15 p.m. (30-minute unpaid lunch)

About the Role

Crown Hardware & Plumbing Supply, Inc. is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Internal Sales Team Member to join our in-store sales team. This role is ideal for someone with extensive hardware retail (5+ years) or trades/property management experience (5+ years), with a strong preference for plumbing knowledge.

While we are prepared to train the right candidate in sales techniques, we cannot train the technical expertise—you must bring a solid technical foundation from day one. If you are a dependable, customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

• Begin with hands-on warehouse training (first 2 weeks) to learn inventory systems and product locations.
• Assist with stocking, organizing, and locating products for orders.
• Transition to the sales floor to:
• Support walk-in customers with product selection and inquiries.
• Process customer orders and purchase orders.
• Coordinate with warehouse, purchasing, and vendor teams to ensure product availability.
• Maintain clean, organized, and customer-ready sales areas.
• Shadow experienced sales staff to learn pricing processes and customer service standards.
• Participate in ongoing product knowledge and sales training.

Qualifications

• Required:
• 5+ years of hardware retail OR trades/property management experience (plumbing background strongly preferred).
• Solid technical knowledge in hardware/plumbing products and applications.
• Preferred:
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and retain product details.
• Comfort working in both warehouse and retail environments.
